I’ve always made SEETHINGS available through Smashwords (eBooks) and Draft2Digital (paperback editions). They are easily accessible online; therefore, the trilogy is easily accessible from anywhere, anytime.
That simplicity works well for me. But you probably don’t even know these platforms. At the very least, you read and get your books from a platform you’re used to using in your own country.
What if you already have an Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo or Booktopia account and that’s where all your books live? Do you really want to open another account, create another password, enter your payment details again and learn your way around another website to buy just one book?
Probably not.
I don’t blame you either. I have enough passwords and accounts in my life already.
Sometimes it’s simply about familiarity.
If you live in Australia, perhaps you normally order books through Amazon Australia, Booktopia or Dymocks. A reader in Britain might be perfectly happy with Waterstones or Foyles. Someone in France might know Fnac. In Canada, it could be Indigo. Readers elsewhere may already have Kobo or Apple Books accounts containing years of purchases.
Why change?
If your favourite retailer already has SEETHINGS sitting in its catalogue, there’s no need to.
That was the part I hadn’t really appreciated until I went looking for my own novels around the Internet. Draft2Digital distributes print books through a large international network, and those books filter through to retailers in different countries. The eBooks have travelled widely too.
I went searching to see just how far they’d gone.
I found SEETHINGS titles listed with retailers across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, South Africa and quite a few other places.
Some retailer names were very familiar to me. Others I’d never heard of.
Of course, that’s the point. I live in Australia. I’m not expected to know which online bookstore a reader in Sweden, Switzerland or South Korea trusts. They do.
So I’ve put together a downloadable SEETHINGS by Country PDF containing the retailers I found. Countries are listed alongside their local online booksellers, with direct hyperlinks to the SEETHINGS catalogue pages I located. Amazon is included where I could verify a listing, along with many country-specific retailers.
Click your country, find a retailer you recognise, and follow the link.
If you’re buying an eBook, things are particularly simple. Digital editions are available immediately from the retailer. If you already use Apple Books or Kobo, for example, buying there also means SEETHINGS lands in the same digital library you’re already using. No new reading app, no new ecosystem and no wondering where you put the thing six months later.
For a paperback, the process varies a little more. These are print-on-demand books, so delivery times depend on the retailer and your location. Your chosen retailer will show you its price, shipping options and estimated delivery time before you complete the order.
That also gives you the advantage of dealing with a business you already know if there’s a delivery problem.
Smashwords and Draft2Digital remain important parts of how I make these books available. Without that distribution machinery behind the scenes, many of these international listings wouldn’t exist.
But you don’t have to change the way you shop just because of the way I publish.
If SEETHINGS is already available through the bookstore you know and trust, buy it there.
That seems a whole lot easier to me.
There you go. One trilogy, a surprisingly large piece of the planet, and hopefully one less password to remember.
