Yes, it’s a self-published title, but that’s the modern thing, right? His book packs a mighty wallop!
When you think everything has already been written into dark fiction, an author with a different style comes along and ruins what you believe. It challenges everything you thought about modern storytelling: There is a straightforward narrative — a virtually unknown photographer thinks he may have witnessed a murder while photographing the night sky. Lightning confuses him, leaving our protagonist uncertain about what he saw. It doesn’t help that his cold, officious wife dismisses his concerns.
There are no Ferraris, diamonds, drugs or currency at the heart of this story. This is why the book works so well. This author hits a raw nerve about intimate relationships. Readers won’t be able to sit still as they turn the book’s pages. There’s a happy ending, just not where and when you’d expect one to be.
