Exploring the Allure of Neo-Noir

Neo-noir is gritty, sexy and nasty. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else. It’s one part psycho-thriller, part twisted nightmare.

I’m pleased to inform readers that my third neo-noir novel is about to be released – someone is about to get steamy love in the sunshine, while another will be found after a night of torrential thunderstorms. Our serial killer is ready to go hunting, and you’ll be there to watch it happen.

The last draft is complete. I’m about to start formatting the text for the publishing platform (I hope they allow the content to pass!). Once done, the book will be ready for your reading displeasure, and this will conclude the trilogy.

So why spend so much time in neo-noir, you ask? What’s so special about this genre anyway?

My creative writing goes there, that’s why. I can’t help it, or explain it any other way. Good doesn’t always win. Anti-heroes live perfect lives. I say, let’s go find out what they do when they live their best ones!

Darker narratives are popular. Vampire and zombie stories flourish. Medieval battle stories thrive. Dystopias have never been more appealing. People seem to adore watching a train wreck in progress. There’s something mesmerising about its destruction and the anilation it creates in its wake!

My novels are not dystopian, zombie-like or vampirish. There’s a battle going on, but it’s internal, not medieval. It’s an adult story for those who know the truth about being an adult. (Dorothy and her ruby slippers won’t be going home this time!)
