Faith or Exploitation? The True Nature of Piety Revealed

I’ve always known that faith was a trick. Some people like to think it’s a gift, a blessing, something pure that drifts down from heaven into their lives. But I’ve seen it for what it really is.

Faith is currency. Trust in disguise. And there are men who know how to spend it better than anyone else.

Tony Brindell is one of those men.

Tony was clever. He didn’t need to shout or strike. He only needed to lower his voice, fold his hands neatly, and let the collar do the work for him. People looked at him and saw holiness. I looked at him and saw a predator.

His mask wasn’t bought in a shop. It was forged in sermons and confessions. Piety itself was his camouflage. When others saw a shepherd, I saw the wolf that lurked just beneath his skin.

And the beauty of it? The flock handed themselves over to him. Willingly.

You see, once someone believes and hands over their trust, they’ll let you do almost anything. They’ll ignore the signs. They’ll excuse the behaviour. They’ll even turn against themselves rather than question the man who claims to speak for God.

Tony fed on that. He knew exactly how to lean on faith, how to tilt his head just so, how to sound wounded when accused. He had the entire vocabulary of virtue, and he used it to cloak his appetite.

I watched it unfold, and I couldn’t help but admire the simplicity. Faith did all the heavy lifting for him.

Every congregation has whispers. Every community knows something. But faith turns whispers into silence.

Tony’s victims didn’t stay quiet because they wanted to. They stayed quiet because faith demanded it. To accuse him was to accuse God. To resist him was to invite shame.

I’ve seen women lower their eyes, men fumble for words, and children look to their parents for rescue that never came. And all the while, Tony smiled. A pastor’s smile. A counsellor’s reassurance. And no one dared to call it what it was.

Tony didn’t just exploit people—he consumed them. Every secret poured into his ear during counselling became leverage. Every confession of weakness gave him another thread to pull.

And when he finally fed on them, when he took what he wanted, it wasn’t enough. It never is. Predators like Tony don’t seek satisfaction. They seek repetition. They turn their hunger into a ritual.

Faith was his feast, and the faithful lined up to be devoured.

The deepest scar Tony left behind wasn’t just the shame of his victims—it was their faith.

Once the mask slipped, once the truth revealed itself, they were left with nothing. No God. No comfort. No sanctuary. The very thing they trusted most was poisoned.

And Tony moved on, smiling still, preaching still, cloaked still in the language of holiness. The wolf doesn’t stay in one pasture. He roams, and the flock never learns until it’s too late.

I didn’t need to expose him. I didn’t need to shout or gather evidence. Tony exposed himself every time he opened his mouth. Every sermon was a confession in disguise, every counselling session an opportunity dressed as care.

And yet, people still followed him. That’s the true sickness of faith—it blinds the willing.

I repress my hungers. I keep them sharp, hidden, patient. Tony? He paraded his under a banner of God, and they adored him for it. I almost envied his boldness, though I could never respect the lack of discipline.

If you know where to look, you’ll find him easily enough. Tony Brindell, pastor, counsellor, predator. His piety isn’t holiness—it’s bait. His faith isn’t salvation—it’s a snare.

SEETHINGS III strips away his mask. It shows how faith twists into exploitation, how piety covers hunger, how trust becomes the sharpest weapon of all.

And I, Mitchell Felding, will always remind you: repression is strength. Faith is weakness. And men like Tony Brindell thrive on the weak.
