“Transgressive” is an apt word—not for the faint of stomach. Many would assume such writing springs from hell itself. And in a sense, it does: it ventures where conventional commercial fiction seldom dares. Self-harm, abuse, sexual deviance—none of it is off limits.
In transgressive fiction, protagonists break laws. They flout moral codes, reject social norms, and defy expectations. Nothing is sacred. Clichés are rare. Predictable endings are even rarer.

From Wikipedia:
“Transgressive fiction is a genre of literature that focuses on characters who feel confined by the norms and expectations of society and who break free of those confines in unusual or illicit ways.”
This genre grants the writer liberated territory—dark corners, twisted impulses, raw truths. You won’t find neat resolutions or comforting lessons here.

My own journey into transgressive fiction began with a single book, nine months of drafting, and twelve complete rewrites. Eventually, I released SEETHINGS on Smashwords. That first novel opened the door: it led to two more, each unapologetically dark, each striving to explore edges most writers fear to touch. The first instalment is available free—no catch. If you’re willing, I’d treasure your review. You can find me on Goodreads; follow the link, share your thoughts, and leave a review.
The path here isn’t easy—both for writer and reader—but if you venture in, you’ll find a brutal, unblinking vision staring back. There’s no comfort, no easy escape. But there just might be truth in the darkness.
I’ll see you in the pages.
