While this year has passed so quickly, Margo and I were inundated with DIY projects and home renovations. We’re also receiving visitors from everywhere around the country and the globe. Their presence has been a great excuse to take a break from the work around our home.

An uncle from Queensland came for a brief visit. He and his wife Lucea had a whistle-stop visit to Perth and Mandurah to see the sights and catch up with family. Dennis is always great value. The Forman sense of humour is strong with this one. I took him to see the Thrombolites (living fossils) and snapped this wonderful family photo of them. He’s the one in the front! (Ha Ha Dennis!)

Margo was over the moon to get a call from Simon to say he was dropping in for a visit (from Humptydoo). Jane, Simon’s cousin, brought her newborn down from Perth so Simon could meet him. What a great day (and night) for everyone. I’m still recovering from the chocolate and all the wine served!

We dropped Simon off at the airport and headed to IKEA to get some new furniture. After we dropped him and his bags off, he wrote something on the rear window but couldn’t work out what it was. Four honks between there and IKEA. Thank you very much, Simon.

Some family members are coming in from England during this Christmas break. We’re looking forward to hosting those we haven’t seen in many years.
With the kitchen in its final throws, it was time to track the plumbing lines back to the room in the house that hadn’t had any work done, the bathroom. It’s probably the most complicated room as it contains everything… plumbing, electrical, wall, ceiling and a floor that doubles as a drain. It’s a wet area, so I need to keep my wits about me with this one. I don’t want water settling anywhere for any length of time.

The neighbour’s Japanese Pepper Trees are blooming, so our pool and pool filter are filling with tiny seed corn. They break down and turn to olive-green sludge. Nice, eh?

That’s it. There’s no more news to share. Between pools, filters, bathrooms and visitors, there’s more dark fiction to write for my readers.
Don’t forget, SEETHINGS is ready and waiting to appeal to your creepy side of book reads.
