Do you like reading steamy books? Do you read them in the privacy of your home, or are you brave enough to enjoy them in public places? *grins* I know I don’t mind glancing over a tantalizing text to watch those who don’t know what I’ve just read – naughty me.
Hang on there, dear author of this post. Are you sure you want to walk this path? Forget about this weird little fantasy of reading erotica in a public place. Why are you writing erotica in the first place? Don’t you do psychological thrillers?
Sex isn’t something I exclude from my adult stories. Adults engage in it, and I’m not afraid to explore what happens inside the bedroom after the clothes come off. I don’t abandon it to rush to take hold of another part of the plot and let the audience know what wasn’t written. Thrillers are meant to be suspenseful. Sex is suspenseful, too, right? Good sex includes excellent suspense. Why not use their power and combine them? Toe-curling erotica isn’t exclusive to books written for teasing.
Sex and sexual attraction can be used to take any narrative’s characters on a wild-teasing journey in worlds we don’t usually frequent (or maybe you do *wink*). Lori Beeton (reader, Dean Koontz fan) said my literotica was feminine. She says I take my time to set the moment and don’t rush to finish business.

It’s true. I go slow. I go to great lengths to set my scenes. That’s because once the intercourse begins, predictability takes over. What about all the doubt, fear, excitement and tingling anticipation leading up to sex? It offers many unpredictable sub-moments from which to write great suspense – and that’s well before a couple starts their journey into sharing their first lingering kiss!
Eyes that shift, chests that rise and fall tell us far greater stories. We all know how sex goes. That part is predictable. All the tantalizing stuff happens before it, inside the mind. It’s as much about reaching out as it is to be touched or to touch another. This matters, too.

Making contact inside the head is what it’s all about, baby! Treasure those sweet moments! Please read about them in my books! -M (See below)
