Fifteen years on WordPress, this blog evolved from personal reflections to dark fiction, photography, and novels—an archive of obsession, change, and stories that refused to stay quiet.
It happened this day, 15 years ago, I packed up my blog and moved it from MySpace to WordPress. MySpace was closing, and WordPress offered a new home. Those humble beginnings have since grown into an extensive archive of dark fiction, essays, and musings spanning nearly two decades. With close to 1000 posts, this site has truly become my creative home.
In the early days, I chronicled personal adventures. One series – Captain’s Log – detailed sailing escapades in the wake of a life change. But after I moved aboard a yacht, the focus shifted. I soon took on a new challenge: writing my first novel, and the blog evolved to chart that creative journey.
Over the years, MichaelFormanWriting.com has touched on a wide range of topics. From photography and personal stories to relationships and, of course, dark fiction, I’ve dissected the silence that creeps into intimacy when desire fades, pondered the role of photogrPhotographyaphers in storytelling, and even cast light (and shadow) on characters from my novels – like the sexy and formidable Dr. Felicity Snow.
Through each evolution, the blog has grown with me as both writer and person. It’s witnessed the release of my books (the SEETHINGS series and more) and the gathering of a community of like-minded readers. We’ve marked milestones – even hitting a “most-downloaded” fiction list along the way – and navigated the darker currents that inspire my tales.
On this anniversary, I’m grateful for every reader who’s wandered these paths with me. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or joined later, thank you for reading. Here’s to fifteen years of words – and to the twists yet to come.
